Remy human hair is cut from the donor with the utmost care. The hair is then spread out in the direction of growth (roots facing up, ends facing down), bundled, tied together at the top, and carefully transported to be professionally processed at the factory. This results in extensions that look completely natural, do not form knots, and are long-lasting.

Non-Remy hair, on the other hand, is of much lower quality. The hair is not laid out in the direction of growth. So-called “fallen hair” is even used. This is typically collected from the floor or removed from hairbrushes. The roots and ends are jumbled together, causing the hair to tangle quickly. Non-Remy hair is usually processed with harsh chemicals, including hydrochloric acid. This destroys the cuticle and, with it, the hair’s natural moisture content: the hair becomes dry and straw-like. However, suppliers sell these hair extensions at a much lower price.
Unfortunately, this low-quality hair can also find its way into expensive extensions. Not all suppliers know exactly where their hair material comes from, so they may not be able to confirm whether their product consists of uniform Remy human hair, non-Remy hair, or a mixture of synthetic and human hair.
Bella Midas employs representatives worldwide to source the hair directly on-site. This is the only way we can be certain that the hair is 100% genuine, high-quality human hair.
100% Pure Virgin Hair Extensions
We source only chemically untreated and unprocessed hair, known as virgin hair. This hair is freshly harvested from the donor’s head and must not be dyed or chemically treated. The pure hair is processed and dyed using a gentle method to give the extensions a healthy shine in one of our many natural shades.
